Please
send your thoughts to our newest rescue - Samboy. He is a 4
yr old - yet to be neutered - boy who was living with his previous
family from the age of 6 weeks. They were trying to euthanize
him because they did not want to spend the money for a much
needed eye surgery. As you can see, this boy has entropian AND
cherry
eye in both eyes. He has almost no vision in his right eye
as his condition has been so bad for a very long time. His eyes
were almost crusted shut with infection. This is just the beginning
of the battle for this boy. He also came to us severely dehydrated.
You can see in one of the photos where he is receiving fluids
from an IV bag. Thanks to our good friend, Judy, we were able
to get his blood drawn to check for any other hidden illnesses
and get some fluids into this poor boy.
In addition, he has a double ear infection, cut and torn pads
on his pawn, injuries to his back legs and front elbows, malnourished,
had fleas and is in quite a bit of pain. We have administered
pain pills and have him on antibiotics, but this is going to
be an uphill battle for this boy. You can see how skinny he is
in some of the photos. He has a nice big head, is super friendly
and just loves, loves, loves to be petted and talked to. For
those of us who have spent some time with him, he reminded us
all of our sweet Bones boy. He has trouble supporting his body
weight with his back legs, he is soo weak. When he is standing,
he looks like he is going to go into the sit position.
He is in a foster home with two other male rotties and a female.
Please stay tuned for updates from his foster family.
These photos were taken AFTER we cleaned him up, and I am sure
we will have updated photos as he begins to heal!
